Greetings to all tube radio lovers! Recently i got this Radio monster,and today i decided to clean it internally first,and after to restore it. All were nice until i tried to clean the dust from the back of the glass with a soft brush..and my God it started to peal ,ending like this.What can i do?It seems impossible to get repaired i assume. I really need the help of the experts here,knowing the issue. If somebody have a spair glass gladly i could pay it. Thank you in advance!

You are right, this is impossible to repair. There is no chance of making the damage completely invisible at all. Replacing the dial glass is best if a spare glass is available. When cleaning dial glasses, you always have to be very careful because the varnish is often sensitive, in some cases even water-soluble. Thus it is advisable not to clean it, or possibly make a test at an invisible spot first. Lutz |
